| "Chancha" and her 8 precious babies @ 1 day old |
It has been so long since I blogged I actually feel guilty! We are coming up on our 1 yr anniversary of starting the FARM and our Business STABLE 2 TABLE and THIS BLOG!
I can't believe the last 10 1/2 months have gone by so fast. So much has happened and we have made mistakes and learned from them along the way. We started out with no livestock, no money and big dreams. we wanted to be self sufficient, we wanted to grow and raise our own organic food and we wanted to do it as frugally as possible. It is not quiet 11 months into our adventure and we now have 3 nanny goats milking and/or pregnant and a beautiful billy too. We have 18 Laying hens(ove summer we had almost 100 but sold most of them for profit),we have 12 Roosters,a huge black sow w/ 8 tiny piglets, ducks, gees, guinneas and now 2 lovely Horses. We are selling at a private market every wknd and building a client/fan base we are proud of. We are still broke most of the time, we will never get "rich" but we are happy. Truly Happy, and that was our goal. To eat fresh, to live simply, to be happy-together with what we have.

I still have a lot to learn and a lot of debt to pay off and many many mistakes yet to make, but at the end of each day I am still awed by what I learn about myself and my family and my real friends. What we are capable of accomplishing together, individually, as a group and as a movement.
